FAQs
Our team includes consultants of various background, including former admissions officers and experienced educators, each with at least ten years of experience in education in the US and/or Canada. Importantly, our consultants help you based on their professional, not personal, experience in university admissions.
Also, providing advice to Ukrainian and other students, we consider you in the context of international students, helping to build the profile of a world-class applicant.
We maintain up-to-date knowledge about admissions trends to various types of educational institutions in the US and Canada. This is an absolute necessity, as this turbulent sphere is particularly sensitive to external changes.
Also, we establish personal connections with the employees of the admission commissions of educational institutions in order to be aware of the events "first-hand". We are constantly working to increase the number of establishments that we visit in person or online.
Lumina Scholastic advises on admission to colleges or universities in the United States or Canada, helps determine the need to attend summer school or a preparatory year in the United States or Canada, accompanies enrollment in private high schools in the United States or Canada, and helps find a vocational program education that will give the right to legal residence and work in the USA or Canada.
We provide comprehensive support, including application review, essay writing guidance, interview preparation, and strategic college selection advice.
We also offer hourly support in your field of interest if you decide to apply to study in the US or Canada on your own, but want professional feedback before submitting your documents.
Our goal is to find the perfect college or university for each student, taking into account academic, social and financial factors, as well as aspirations, interests, and dreams. We weigh your wishes and possibilities with our experience and recommend a strategy for entering the educational institutions that will best suit you.
The admissions process involves three parties: the student, his/her parents, and Lumina Scholastic educational consultants. No one can fill out the application form except the student, but together we can prepare all the necessary materials for a successful application. Parental involvement is necessary not only for financial decisions, but also to support the student in the admissions process.
After determining the format of cooperation (one-time consultation or full support, see Services for more details), we will create a student's work schedule with a consultant who will help to do everything on time and with quality, so that the application to a college in the USA or Canada takes place without problems.
Usually, there are regular online meetings on an agreed schedule and intermediate communication using messengers and e-mail.
For international students, the possibilities of receiving aid to finance education in the USA or Canada are quite limited. For students with a quality and strong profile, there are various opportunities to reduce the cost of education, from on-campus work to merit scholarships. We advise on the financial aid process, help identify scholarship opportunities, and offer advice on how to effectively complete applications.
The cost of services depends on the format of cooperation you choose. We offer transparent pricing with no hidden costs. in the Services section, possible service packages are indicated, including several hours of consultation for interview preparation to several months of full support in applying to a US college.
The cost of services of our consultants starts from 120 USD per hour. A projected budget for our services will be provided after the introductory meeting.
We also offer flexible payment plans.
It is ideal if we start cooperation at least a year before graduation from school (16-17 years old). But we adapt our services depending on your situation: we consulted families of 8th graders who wanted to decide on a strategy for studying in high school and preparing for admission early; and also assisted applicants two months before the application deadline to check necessary materials and provide backup options.
